Ajita Suchitra Veera’s BALLAD OF RUSTOM to open Indian Competition at 12th Osian Cinefan Film Festival

Written, Directed and Produced by Ajita Suchitra Veera feature film BALLAD OF RUSTOM will have its world premiere on 28th July, 2012, at Siri Fort Auditorium, New Delhi in the Indian competition section of the 12th Osian Cinefan Film Festival of Indian, Asian and Arab Cinema that opens on 27th July, 2012, in New Delhi, after a gap of two years. The festival showcases more than 200 films representing over 50 countries and open with Japanese director Keiichi Sato’s ASURA and close with Rituparno Ghosh’s CHITRANGDHA.

BALLAD OF RUSTOM stars Megha Burman, Denzil Smith and Sunny Hinduja and is photographed by Shanti Bhushan Roy. It is produced by Imaginem Cinema Pvt. Ltd. and has been doing the rounds of various film markets including Cannes, and Film Bazaar at Goa.

It is a classic, poetic and passionate tale of imagination, dreams, the passion for life, love, hope and despair and is shot on 35mm film negative in sync sound. It is a Pure Film in technical terms with no digital intermediate processing. It’s the story of Rustom who works in a small government office in the countryside. Life for Rustom is wandering from place to place in his small town. He spends time with Kapil who works in suburban trains, living with the eccentricities of his boss, and being magically transported into his imaginary other world in the far reaches of this beautiful and lonely countryside which maybe undergoing a quiet upheaval that may disturb it's dark and mysterious worlds forever.
